Indaba 2026 | Building Connections in a Changing Hospitality Landscape

Following another dynamic week at Africa’s Travel Indaba 2026 in Durban, the CiMSO team returns energised by new conversations, strengthened partnerships, and a clear sense of where the hospitality industry is heading next. As always, Indaba proved to be more than a trade show – it was a meeting point for ideas, innovation, and the people driving African tourism forward.

This year’s event carried a strong sense of optimism. Across the exhibition floor, hospitality operators showed a growing appetite for smarter, more connected systems that can simplify operations while improving the guest experience. From boutique lodges to large-scale resorts, the message was consistent: technology is no longer a luxury in hospitality – it’s an essential part of staying competitive.

Decades of Indaba Experience

Since first exhibiting at Africa’s Travel Indaba in 2002, CiMSO has remained a regular presence at the event. Over the years, the exhibition has evolved alongside the hospitality industry itself, reflecting changing traveller expectations, emerging technologies, and new operational challenges.

For CiMSO, Indaba continues to serve as both a showcase and a learning opportunity. Every year provides fresh insight into the realities facing hospitality operators across Southern Africa and beyond. While trends may change, one thing has remained consistent: businesses continue to value reliability, integration, and long-term support when choosing technology partners.

From our beginnings in 1989 with the original text-based INNkeeper reservation software to today’s fully integrated ERP management suites, CiMSO has consistently adapted to meet the changing demands of the hospitality sector. Advances in cloud technology, mobile accessibility, automation, and data security continue to shape the future of hospitality software – and remain central to our development focus.

Strong Engagement

Africa’s Travel Indaba once again attracted exhibitors, buyers, and tourism stakeholders from across the continent and abroad, creating an energetic environment for networking and collaboration. Throughout the event, the CiMSO stand welcomed a steady flow of visitors interested in integrated hospitality management solutions tailored to African operations.

Representing CiMSO at Indaba 2026 were Johan Marais (Director of Sales and Marketing), Tom Davidson (Sales and Marketing Executive), Rafeeqah Daniels (Marketing Team), along with our trusted value-added resellers James Sharkey (KEY Computers) and Ricky Ressa (CSS).

A major talking point at this year’s stand remained CiMSO’s expanding integration capabilities, alongside growing interest in the recently introduced multi-currency functionality, automated mass mail features, and our new revenue management integration with RoomPriceGenie. Operators showed particular interest in solutions that simplify communication, improve rate management, and streamline financial operations for properties catering to both local and international guests.

New to the Indaba experience this year was Rafeeqah Daniels, who recently joined the CiMSO marketing team. Bringing a fresh perspective and strong creative energy, Rafeeqah played an important role in capturing the atmosphere of the event and engaging with visitors throughout the exhibition. Her enthusiasm and people-focused approach made her a valuable addition to the team during a busy and productive week.

Looking ahead

As another successful Indaba comes to a close, the conversations and connections made during the exhibition continue beyond the show floor. With follow-up meetings already underway and new opportunities developing, the CiMSO team remains focused on helping hospitality businesses move away from disconnected systems toward fully integrated operational environments.

We would like to thank everyone who visited the CiMSO stand during Indaba 2026. Whether reconnecting with long-standing clients or meeting new industry professionals for the first time, every conversation contributed to another memorable year at Africa’s premier hospitality trade event.
